Friendship Takes on Artistic Meaning

What could bring lawyer and scientist together? Appreciation of art and art as an investment. We have been colleagues for over a decade in Singapore. He decided to follow his passion into art, and I decided to learn "art" from my "scientific" thinking.

I asked myself a few questions before investing in art: 1. Do I like the piece? 2. Am I willing to pay for what I like? 3. Is there any possible investment value over the longer term (>5 years)? Above all, getting a third party opinion from my lawyer always help.


Here is a happy moment of home cooked dinner at my friend's house where family members can eat and laugh together. It is a simple but often neglected habit. Yes, it is a simple habit to deepen the bond of friendship.

A Blog that Integrates

As I experiment with blogspot which is part of iGoogle, I am beginning to feel its power to integrate. The article on Natural Cure, is posted directly from Google Docs (Beta) in which the original resides. This is the first time I attempted this action, and it works seamlessly. I can now easily write an article in word document, store it in Google Docs (Beta), and then publish it to my blog. If you go to the Links on the left and click on the "Pictorial Journey" you are immediately taken to Picasa, which is also part of iGoogle. In this photo storage, you are able to see what I have put in as public photos. You can also have private photos which are not shared. I have not tried video, as it takes time to edit for something that is worth sharing. Google has purchased YouTube for a few billion dollars, and this means you can integrate video as well. Being thankful in any situation is a positive attitude. It brings peace to the mind and rest the heart. The result is a healthy body and a smiling face. Today go about and spread the story of being thankful

Expectation and Reality

Which parents do not wish the best for their kids? Which kids (teenagers) ever understand their parents? Hence the arrival of the generation gap. While the parents work to fill the barn with grains for a stormy future; the kids pass out the grains to demonstrate their pride in having what their contemporaries may not have. This same phenomenon is like the Chinese saying of wealth will not last three generations. The first generation painfully work hard and save to grow the wealth. The second generation appreciates this hardwork and continues to grow but use the wealth cautiously and educate the next generation. The third generation does not see the hardwork, but that they have more than sufficient to use and lose their hunger to find food. Eventually they lose it all through laziness and extravagance.
